House Progress

So if you have me on Facebook you know that this weekend I drove out to our land to see the progress on our house and boy, was I surprised to see what I saw! It's actually starting to look like a house... Well, not exactly, but at least it's not just dirt anymore! I went Friday by myself and got to meet some of the contractors that were out there working & they had some of the frame up! The next day (Saturday) I took my dad and step mom to see it and they had a lot more of the frame up. Enough that we could walk thru and I could tell them what all the rooms are going to be. They were super excited, they loved the location and had never seen the neighborhood before so we drove around and admired all the new houses.

Saturday: (front view)

I've had a lot of people ask me who our builder is, so if you'd like to check them out their website is below! Dudley Mason & Dudley Jr have been a joy to work with! So helpful and had great ideas! They really helped make sure we had the perfect balance of what both me & my husband wanted!

Fresh bronze eye look for spring!

So my beautiful SWEET friend was kind enough to be my model for a spring eye/ lip look! When I think of spring this is the first eye look that comes to mind for just an everyday look... BRONZED! for this look I used three different shadows from 2 different pallets (VERY simple and effortless, isn't that what spring and summer is about?!)
-The star of the show is Half baked from the Urban Decay Naked 2. I packed this color all over the lid with a flat shader brush.
-Secondly, I used my blending brush and the color "Tease" and blended it into her eyelid crease to give the look some depth.
-Next, I picked up the color "Faint" from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Pallet with my Sigma E30 pencil brush and defined the "outer-V" of her eyelid. Then, took the same fluffy blending brush and blended everything out to eliminate any harsh lines.
-I really wanted the lower lash line to POP so I took my pencil brush and sprayed it with some Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray to apply Half baked from the Naked 2 again right beneath her lower lashes.
-To high light the inner corners of her eyes and her brow bone, I used the color "Venus" from the Naked Basics.
-For her lashes (upper and lower) I used Loreal Telescopic Mascara

*for lips, I lightly applied MAC's Vegas Volt with my Sigma lip brush and toped it with a nude gloss

You can also create a similar look for much less using Maybelline's Copper Chic Quad. Found at most drug stores!

A dupe for the Mac lipstick I used is Revlon's Coral Berry!

I hope you all enjoyed this look, Thanks for reading!

My new favorite trend + House Stuff!!!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! We haven't done much besides do some visiting with family and went and visited our house... Well, the foundation of our house. They did get ALOT done this week, we were impressed!
We decided we are going to go check on it weekly, every Saturday from now on!

Now for some Style:
(I really need to go dig out my camera charger from storage so I can take better pictures. SORRY!!!)

I got this outfit in the mail this week from a site called Necessary Clothing and I am in love! My new favorite trend of the season is definitely matching separates! This outfit is high waisted shorts and a slightly cropped top that buttons up in the back! I think that matching separates are a good way to change it up and give the typical summer dress a rest. (Don't get me wrong I LOVE my summer dresses) I would wear this outfit to any dressy spring or summer event like a wedding, or just out on a date with my hubby if I'm feeling fancy! Or just throw on some flats and sunnies to dress it down and head to a BBQ! I have seen so many of these little outfits that I love, some with shirts and some with skirts, and I can't wait to get more!  Also I have to mention I am wearing my 22" Bellami Bellissimas in Dark brown, like always! All links will be listed below!

So I finally came up with a new, much cuter name for my blog but I am waiting to debut it when I get my new template which will be either Monday or Tuesday (I will post an announcement on social media when it's up and running!

As always, thanks for reading!

My favorite BB cream!

I mentioned in my previous post that I like to wear BB (beauty balm or blemish balm) cream most days instead of foundation, so I thought I would dedicate a post to my favorite one!

Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB cream for Combination to Oily skin.
Such a long name! Haha! But it's the best one I've tried! It's not greasy like many others, it provides a light coverage to even out skin tone and leaves you with a glowing, smooth completion. This particular one claims to mattify skin, minimize pores and conceal imperfections and it does just that! It's perfect for days you don't want anything too heavy on your skin, as it feels like you have nothing on at all! The garnier bb cream contains broad spectrum SPF 20 so it's perfect for the spring and summer months!
The only thing that I would change about this product is the way it's packaged because it can get very messy!! it's a more of a liquid than a cream so if you open it with the tube facing down (like in the picture above) it will pour out!! But other than that, I am completely in love!
The formula that I use for combo/oily skin comes in 3 shades:
-light/medium
-medium/deep
-deep
I use medium deep and it's a perfect match!
To apply this I use either my beauty blender or my sigma F80 flat top kabuki brush

I purchased my BB cream at target! And I know they carry the formula I use online. I could only find the regular formula and the anti aging formula on the ulta website so I'm not sure they carry the one for oily/combo skin! It's usually in the skin care section not the makeup section and it comes in a box like in the picture below

Thanks SO much for reading!

Dupe for MAC Pro longwear FOUNDATION

4 out of 7 days a week I usually opt for a BB cream instead of a foundation, especially during the warmer months, but I LOVE trying new foundations. My absolute favorite high end foundation would definitely be the MAC Pro Longwear foundation, it's very lightweight and lasts incredibly throughout the day. It's very creamy and blendable and also is buildable so that you can either achieve a medium or full coverage look. It retails for $31.00 which can be a bit pricey especially if you're using it as an everyday foundation. Well, about a year ago I discovered an almost perfect drugstore dupe for this foundation: the Revlon Colorstay foundation for combination/ oily skin. **i have combination skin, more dry than oily, but the I did not like the dry skin formula of this particular foundation as much**
The Revlon foundation retails for about $10-12. So much better on your budget! It has the same consistency and leaves the same natural finish. They are both oil controlling foundations, and long wearing. The MAC foundation claims to last about 15 hrs and the Revlon claims to last 24 hrs. I don't wear my foundation for that long, but I will say that both do last my full work day (9 hrs) plus the extra two or three hours until I take my makeup off.

I wear NW25 in MAC Prolongwear foundation and "rich tan" in Revlon Colorstay for Combination/ oily skin.

Ladies remember: you must FIRST take care of your skin in order for your makeup to look good. I love the St Ives apricot scrub for blemish control or the green tea scrub to exfoliate once a week and for everyday use I use (and highly recomend) the Purity wash by Philosophy. I use that daily with my clarisonic Mia 2, I am in love with that duo! It can be a bit harsh on your skin so I'm VERY gentle with it and use it on the lowest setting.
