Sunday Randomness + OOTD

Well my family all headed back to their homes is Fort Worth and Atlanta today, I had such a wonderful time with them as always! Goodbyes are always the worst, but we will see each other again for my little cousin Brianna's graduation in MAY! Today was spent doing a whole lot of cleaning and laundry and a little running around town. I thought I would share my very simple OOTD because I am so in love with this sweater I got. I love the distressed look on the bottom and the sleeves.

sweater is from a boutique in downtown San Angelo. similar here
leather leggings from Daily Look

I straightened my hair with my new Nume Megastar Straightener, and I am in love! it leaves my hair so silky and shiny! I love Nume products, they are by far the best hair tool brand I've tried! Check out their products here

I am sad Christmas is over but I am more than ready to ring in the New Year, I just know that this year is going to be so great! We already have so many things to look forward to! 2013 was more than wonderful, I made so many memories with my husband and family, here are a few of my favorites. :)

Christmas + moving + makeup!

Hi everyone!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you spent it with the people you love most like I did! Christmas is the best time of the year for my family because we make SUCH a big deal out of it. Christmas Eve is my grandparents on my dad's side anniversary and this year they celebrated 53 years of marriage! AMAZING!

This year my husband got me a CHI touch screen hair dryer, a Nume Megastar straightener and of course our trip to Jamaica. And from my family I got the clarasonic Mia 2 that I wanted so badly!!! And lots of cute clothes!! My cousin got a MacBook Pro and I am seriously jealous... My birthday is coming up and I know my hubby is reading sooooo... Hint hint. ;)

I have been having a blast with my family! When we are all together we act so silly and are laughing non stop. Without them, I don't know how I could handle my husband not being here for the holidays. I miss my hubby so much and it's really sad when he misses stuff like this but he always makes an effort to make his time home so special so it makes times like these a little easier. For Christmas he wanted a puppy, so a puppy is what he got! We are so in love with our new little pup, he is just the sweetest thing.

Meet Tex.

We finally sold our house and we close next month! We searched and searched for a new house for months and couldn't find the perfect one so we decided to build a custom home with Mason Trendsetters! I am so pleased with our decision even though that means we won't get to move into a new house right away, because it will be so worth it in the end! We already had one meeting with them where we got the rough draft floor plan, decided the sq footage, how many rooms and basically just told them everything that we want our new house to have! We are so excited for this next chapter in our life! I plan on blogging about the whole process and posting pics when there are pics to post! It's so funny, the house were going to be living in while ours is being built is the house I lived in when I was born til I was 3 years old and it's been in my family for about 50 years! So cool when life comes full circle like that!

I was loving my Christmas Eve make up! I used the color taupe (lorac pro) for the crease and also to blend everything out at the end, deep purple (lorac pro) to define outer corner and also for my lower lash line and the NYX pearl pigment on my lid. Pigments can be tricky, be sure to use a brush with some kind of makeup setting liquid to apply them or else you will have a big mess! I sprayed my flat shader brush with urban decay's all nighter makeup setting spray, but mac fix+ will work too! (Too faced makes a "glitter glue" specifically for pigments and glitter but I haven't tried it)

Jamaican Vacation

Hello!! So, for the past week I have been MIA because I was on vacation in Jamaica!!! My husband and I went with another couple that we've been friends with for a while, and we had SO much FUN! We stayed for 6 days, at the Grand Bahia Principe Resort, and loved it. It doesn't get much better than hopping on a plane to 90 degree weather, powdery white sand and turquoise water right in the middle of winter! When we left Texas, it was a full blown ice storm so it was so nice to just leave that behind for a few days. The first couple of days we just relaxed on the beach, drinking rum and the next couple days after that were spent doing all kinds of fun adventures like a bobsled roller coaster that takes you on a scenic route through the rain forest, a sky lift ride to the top of a mountain, a boat ride, snorkeling, and my favorite: we climbed to the top of a waterfall! We had so much fun and loved the island so much! Can't wait to see where we will go next!

My full face routine!!

Hello ladies! Here is my current full coverage face routine featuring my favorite products of the moment! I don't wear a full coverage face on a daily basis, most days a tinted moisturizer is good enough, but this routine is for the days where I just am in the mood to go all out!

(Click on the names of the products mentioned for a direct link to purchase)

I start out by priming my face with smashbox photo finish light primer. This primer is amazing, it just creates a smooth canvas for your foundation and really does make a difference!
Next, I have been using the Kat Von D lock-it foundation in Medium 56! This is a very full coverage foundation and let me tell you a little goes a long way! You have to be very careful with this product, a good brush is necessary because this foundation requires to be buffed out really well or else it will look "cakey". I use my Sigma synthetic kabuki brush set.
For concealer, I use MAC pro-longwear concealer in NW 20. It is my absolute favorite!! This is also a pretty heavy duty product, but at the same time it's very blendable and not thick at all. I just put this underneath my eyes and pat it into my skin with my F86 Sigma tapered kabuki brush.

For my brows I outline them with Anastasia Brow Wiz in brunette then full them in with NYX Eyebrow cake powder in Dark Brown/ Brown using a small angled brow brush.

I always like to set my foundation and concealer with a transparent powder. At the moment, I'm loving my MAC prep + prime transparent pressed powder. (pictured top left) It's just a colorless powder suitable for all skin tones that controls oils and gives you a "soft focus" look.

I switch up my blush, bronzer, highlight and eye shadows from day to day depending on my mood but since we're on the subject of face makeup, I thought if mention my current favorites.
I'm loving MAC Margin blush (pictured bottom left) it looks a lot darker in the picture than it is, it just leaves your cheeks with a peachy/bronzed sheen.
For highlight, my all time favorite would have to be the Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm (pictured top right). I usually wait until it's on sale on Hautelook. I just swipe a little on top of my cheek bones using a fan brush.
For contouring, I've been loving the Tarte Amazonian Clay bronzer in Hotel heiress. Sadly this product has been discontinued but you can find A very similar shade HERE. It's perfect for contouring because it is a dark, matte shade and it's WATERPROOF! :)

The Lorac Pro palette is so AMAZING the shadows are so velvety and easy to blend! I like them even better than the urban decay naked shadows and that says a lot! In the picture above, I included a little guide to my go-to eye look.
Winged eyeliner has to be my favorite makeup trend of the moment! I go thru tons of black liquid liners but the Maybelline Master precise is my current favorite. The pen shape and felt tip make it very easy to work with!

Last but not least, LASHES!! I have no words for the Too faced Better Than Sex Mascara, besides it's amazing!! it give so much volume but it doesn't clump your lashes! And the Covergirl Lash perfection has always and will always be in my routine. It really lives up to its name by perfectly separating and lengthening your lashes

Before and after:

So there it is! In the picture above I used ALL of the products mentioned, even the eyes and cheek products. I'd love to know if you have tried these products and what you think!

My Bellami Hair & quick ootd!!

My natural hair is already pretty long, when it's straightened it comes down to the middle of my back, and let me tell you... I have some THICK massive hair and lots of it! So I don't necessarily need extentions but I just love the extra umph they add! I wear mine just to of course add some length and also add volume!

Before and After:
I wear the 22" Bellissima 220 gram extensions in Chocolate Brown. These extensions blend so well! They are made with a multi-tone adapt color system which makes them blend with the color of your hair even if the colors are slightly different. In this picture, I am only wearing 5 of the 10 wefts that it comes with (like I normally do)!

The Bellissima extensions come with 10 wefts, and they are the perfect thickness! Like I said before, my natural hair is super thick so if I wear thin stringy extensions, it just doesn't look right! The Bellamis are thick all the way to the bottom and are 100% Human Remy Hair.

When I clip them in, for the very bottom and the middle section, I clip two wefts together like in the picture above! (I clip a two clip weft on top of a three clip weft for the very bottom and a 3 clip weft on top of a 4 clip weft for the middle section right behind my ears and for the crown of my head I use a single 4 clip weft)

They don't shed any more than any extensions should (as long as you care for them correctly and don't yank at the hair when you brush them!)

                   ---------------

Last night we went out for hibachi for my husbands late birthday dinner with a few close friends. It was EXTREMELY cold due to the ice storm that started yesterday evening so we had to bundle up!
